John Wiley, a retired airline pilot, an aviation journalist who made occasional appearances on CNN in recent years, died at age 65 following a heart attack. He was a Vietnam veteran who flew both O-2s and KC-135s during that conflict.

I never met John in the flesh. I knew him in the on-line world for a very long time and I considered him to be a friend.
