The debate last night wasn't a debate. It was a shit show that was staged in the middle of a dumpster fire, a feces-strewn circus of Trump's making.
Someone who wasn't mentally-deranged would have analyzed his weaknesses as a candidate and tried to minimize them. Trump's irrationality, his petulance, his impatience, his lack of common courtesy, his arrogant ignorance, all those characteristics are why Trump has been losing support outside of his base. A sane candidate would have tried to at least act like a rational person for ninety minutes. A smart candidate would have planned to let Biden speak, hoping that some rambling answers would have brought forth a series of gaffes that would make good campaign ads.
But not Trump. Trump not only brought his worst tendencies to the stage, he added nitromethane to his tank and stomped on the accelerator.
Chris Wallace attempted to hand Trump a gift; Wallace gave Trump an opportunity to denounce white supremacist groups. Trump's blatant racism has been hanging around his neck since 2017[1] when he called white supremacist protesters "fine people". But Trump couldn't do it. He just could not bring himself to denounce his Nazi base. In fact, he gave them orders!
Biden didn't win last night. He didn't have to. All Biden had to do was not fuck up and let Trump shoot himself in the foot.
Which Trump did.

It was a trainwreck.
Chris Wallace could not keep control.
Drumpf basically arrived pissed in the flowers and shat on the stage.
He was rude, crude and socially unacceptable.
He proved he wants to be fascist.
He is the deep state.
Then again it was all clearly his goal to deface and defame an institution.

That's what my thirteen year old autistic grandson said: a shit show.
"Stand back and stand by" is the only thing the vast majority of people will remember from this debate.
And it's all they need to remember.
"Stand by" meant wait for the UPS guy to deliver your brown shirt.
I cannot wait to get to work today. Caught bits and pieces, in the break room and halfway through Biden hadn't laid a glove on him according to the brown shirts. I'll get the round by round commentary about 100pm CST.
Drumpf is the first prez-nut to have the distinction of creating
increased firearm sales not because of the threat of restrictions,
but the actual threat of radical right wing hate groups.
People that would never own a firearm before now feel threatened.
Just another result of his dog whistles and lack of a plan.
Heck of job Donald! Your killing us!

Nah. Trump didn't shoot himself in the foot, he put the gun to his ear and pulled the trigger. Of course, the bullet passed in one ear and out the other without encountering anything, because DJT is nothing but reptilian hindbrain. He never missed a beat.
Coming back to it late in the day, it has been overlooked he didn't call on the militias to Stand Down.
TB, he didn't condemn them, didn't denounce them, didn't even tell them to stand down. He told them to be ready.
I'm too old for this street-fighting with guns shit. On the other hand, it probably beats dying of Alzheimer's or something like that there.
I think last night may have been a continuation of the 2016 campaign strategy, which was "make the election so utterly repellent that no decent human would want to be a part of it" and from that standpoint, it wasn't as much of a failure as it would otherwise seem.

Pretty quiet at work amazingly enough. The proud boy watched a different debate than everyone else. And all he had to say was" Biden
didn't lay a hand on him" he did opine that the next debate could have have Hannity as a moderator "to make it a fair".
One Fox moderator per year. And can’t be a woman unless it’s Kayleigh or maybe Kelly Ann. And you thought the last one was a shitstorm.

I tried to watch the debate, but could only last perhaps 10-15 minutes, before I got disgusted and turned the television off. Biden did well enough, although he did get bogged down in discussions of his son, Hunter, from what I have read. Trump, in a word, screwed up, and big time. As has been stated, he came across as an angry, tyrannical, bully, out to destroy his political opponent. If he would have been calm, patient, and for want of a better word, decent, I have no doubt that he would have been the clear winner.
Trump has many things that he has done well, from some of the military victories, building the military back up from when he first took office, to negotiating new deals with Canada, Mexico, China, etc. Not to mention the economy, which was super strong before the Corona 19 virus. I know that many give Obama the credit for that, but it was Trump who changed rules that encouraged companies to return to the US, bringing jobs and investment with them.
The problem is, he attacked Biden from the beginning, and made Joe look like the small puppy being mauled by the Pitbull. From just the little that I saw, even though Biden did attempt to fight back, he most likely gained sympathy points from some of the undecideds.
If there was one real loser in this first debate, it would have to be Chris Wallis. I cannot remember a time when a moderator did a worse job at keeping the two sides on point, or keeping them from outright attacks, that had nothing to do with the question asked. If the other 2 debates follow a similar line, with Trump on the attack, and Biden trying to hold his own, there is no doubt that Biden will come out of the debate season a solid winner, and Trump has likely served his final days in office. I don't pay much attention to polls, since depending on how they are made up,and who they are asked of, can skew the numbers any way that the pollster wishes them to go. What I instead pay attention to is the mood of the nation. I get that from watching several of the various news stations, not for the opinions of the commentator/entertainers, but for what the stories are about, and where they are taking place.
