What pisses me off is Faux News talking heads saying after this is over the employees furloughed will get paid. That is NOT true unless Congress acts...which Congress has always done, but would you be willing to bet on that? As of now, no paid leave status is approved for “essential employees”, so if you are scheduled for the vacation of a lifetime, you can choose between skipping the vacation and going to work or possibly not getting paid. You call in sick, you get told you are furloughed. You are “essential”, you are required to work for the promise of pay at a future time. I’m gonna go call Chase and tell them I promise to pay at an indefinite time in the future and see how that plays out.
Even worse off are the Contractors, you think they’ll get paid for the days not worked by their company?
Thirdly, I don’t think she can legally do what she just said. Either she’s an “essential employee” and will be compensated eventually, or she’s furloughed and cannot be volunteering to work for free, that’s a violation of Federal Law.
CP88, that's satirical.
You sure she's that smart?
Damn it, I finally noted the Borowitz on it...this shutdown shit has me all messed up....sorry all.
I remember getting "warrants" from the State of California years ago. The bank took it, but they didn't have to.
Congress, both parties, had their shit together enough when I was a Federal employee to not pull this shit when I was in. I do remember Ronnie pulling a one time only fiscal year shift by moving paydays from the 15th and 30th to the 30th of September to the 1st of October.
