Government-Private Partnership

Remember that push of the Bush Administration for "voluntary solutions" and "self-policing" over regulation of industries and oversight by government inspectors?

Didn't work so well, did it
?

You have to wonder what other horrors are out there in the food or pharmaceutical industries. We know how well reducing oversight and regulation worked in the financial sector, which is why we are teetering on another depression.

No jobs. Crumbling infrastructure. Insufficient investment in research. Failing banks. Contaminated food.

For all of these blessings, we truly thank George W. Bush and the party of Hoover.
