A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

Gosh, I'd better go tell my wife that, and to get rid of her guns. Oh wait, our couch is horrible to sleep on. :D
hee hee hee hee hee
He done stepped in it
Tell it to Dr. Ruth, Israeli sniper, tell it to the Kurdish female fighters, tell it to all the women I served with in the Navy, etc...
Welp, that's news to me, and would have been news to my mother, from whom I inherited my own guns... and my sister who has possession of all of them since my parents and brother died.

Obviously, what we need to do is to clone Arnold Schwartzenegger and have him as school cop & all 'round party pooper. Problem solved. Sheeesh.
I get a different message from what he said. I don’t think he was saying women can’t carry a weapon. He was saying how would they carry it CONCEALED. Short of an ankle holster with pants or blazer/ in tucked shirt covering a shoulder holster, the weapon would be openly carried. Discipline would be easily created in the classroom if your teacher’s 9mm was visible.

Dale, you are coming off as stupid as CNN.
Yes that is what he said. "How will they do it? How will they carry concealed? I don't know how they will do it!" Poor little women, can't possibly figure out how to carry concealed until some man 'splains it to us. And since he (and you) don't know how we would do it, then it must be impossible.
Here's a clue for you. Women know how to carry concealed. We have more choices than a shoulder holster with a jacket, or an inside the waist holster with a belt.
I won't list all of the choices, because I'm not sure that I know all of the choices. If you follow the links (via the hat tip that was given in the post above) some are enumerated by Jenn Jacques. Not all. More were enumerated at The Cornered Cat. I'm not sure those 2 together are exhaustive.
And here's another clue. Don't make excuses for someone who stepped in something he knows very little (to nothing) about, unless you know a whole lot more. And I would say your knowledge of women's concealed-carry options is a bit less then encyclopedic. (Because when you do jump in, it just invites what we used to call a dog-pile, back when 300 baud was teh bomb.)
Zendo, thanks for your response. I really glad you felt as though you had to talk down toward me to emphasize your point.
I readily admit I don’t know all of the ways to carry concealed for a woman, mainly because I’m a man and I don’t wear women’s apparel. And apparently the speaker is in the same boat as I. I never said women are not capable of carrying, I just don’t know how they would keep the weapon at hand. I only know of the options for males. Sorry I didn’t do enough research to satisfy your perceptions of me.
And I MAY be stupider than you in some areas but smarter in others. But I guess we’ll never know for sure.
Dale
I'd have posed one question why even concealed?
If they are allowed a visible retention holster has a certain value when the real reason is to first and foremost declare the school is a dangerous place for felons. IF you succeed in that its very likely to have the desired effect, the would be spree shooter will go somewhere else.
The intent is to harden the schools against being a place where asshats are assured of easy targets in the "gun free Zone".
Eck!
I would suspect the issue would be one of student (and parent) comfort, on the first hand, and the lack of doubt for the attackers, on the other hand. Knowing which teachers are armed is valuable for planning an attack, not knowing is a deterrent to the attack. Also, when the armed teachers are known, the times that several of those teachers are absent (training at another campus or such) at 5e same time would be opportunies. I’m not sanguine about arming teachers, and I fear what the result of a rush to do just that could be. On the other hand, what is the solution to this issue? Until we study it, we don’t know.
Again I call for BOTH sides to agree to studies on gun violence, studies conducted to determine facts and not opinions, ideas and arguments. Let’s get the data and find out what might work and what won’t, and then we can evaluate the results with regard to current laws and the Constitution. It’s pretty likely we can find a way to significantly reduce these tragic events without any major changes in laws, especially knee jerk reactions like ol’Donnie’s.
