Dear CBS News: Go Fuck Yourselves

I was watching the countdown for the launch of Falcon 9 Heavy on CBS News's website. About fifteen seconds before zero, those fuckers cut away to cover the presser of the White House's Liar du Jour. By the time I was able bring up another feed, the rocket was well into the air.

So, from this space geek to CBS News, the network that so heavily and professionally covered the early days of spaceflight:

Go fuck yourselves.

I watched SpaceX's webcast, and apart from the wild cheering piped into the soundtrack from their HQ, it was a well produced affair. And really, I didn't mind the cheering that much, especially when the two side-boosters landed in tandem. That was pretty fricken awesome, really. They lost the feed from the drone ship, and I'm having internet issues just now, so I don't know if the center rocket landed safely or not, but all in all a well spent 45 minutes.

I did see the boosters land simultaneously. It's astonishing.

Video is up on the next post.

To me, the dual booster landing looked almost CGI, it was so perfect! Elon may be a self-centered twit who thinks little about how some of his interests may adversely impact the little people, but the dude hired some serious talent on rockets.

This is the stuff of Sifi from decades past... only real!

Mars someday just might have gotten possibly a bit more real.

Musk wants to put people on Mars by the middle of the `20s. Even if he slips by a few years, it'll have been possible for a number of people to have seen the first Lunar and Martian landings.

Amazing.

If we don't blow ourselves to shit beforehand.
