Senatorial Musing
I wonder if the Democrats in the Senate will have the spine to be as obstructionist as the Senate Republicans have been.

Rhetorical question right?
I'm more interested in seeing if the party apparatus and voters have learned anything at all. We will know the answer come mid-term elections and turn-out.

Well, looking at the list of probable key cabinet positions, there probably will be some shock when folks who voted Trump realize what the whole package consists of.
Mike, right. They won't.
Marc, anyone who voted for Trump who later regrets it will get no sympathy from me. Only this look.
The DNC not longer under DWS might be a different beast... but from what we've seen, a Democratic executioner doing his job would hand the ax to the convicted, then kneel down and put his own head on the block.
Nangleator, my senator is a Dem. I just mailed a letter demanding that they do unto them what they did unto us, with the body of the letter in 20-point type.
That 20 point type may have been a mistake. Your senator might think you're a crazy.
A regular typewritten-looking letter is best, with a handwritten note in the corner that says, "Senator, this is really, really important to me. I brought this up at my book club last night. All twenty of us agreed that you've just got to stand firm.
Suddenly this is a letter from 21 voters, with their leader impassioned enough to hand write a note in the margins.
Yours crankily,

Now I need to write a letter to my all Democrat federal representation (the state ones won't care) that meybe they should come up wit a solution other than placing more and more impediments in the way of law abiding citizens.
I fear Manchin in West Virginia will roll over each time Trump says "Coal"
Meanwhile, I've got Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden for Senators and Earl Blumenauer for Rep. I know they will fight.
I'll be interested to see whether the filibuster survives, and if not, what McConnell's reasoning is for killing it after he howled so loudly when Reid had it removed from certain appointees.
Not really, he has no shame so no reasoning will be required.

Obstruction has proven to be the most effective political tactic I've ever seen. Certainly the Democrats will adopt it. And they'll hear from me if they don't.
The Democrats will obstruct only with permission from the GOP.
