Barack Obama is trying to suck up to the Evangelicals by promising to do what Dorquemada did, only better. Obama wants to expand Chimpy's failed "faithed based programs" initiative.
I have a real problem with this, since it seems to me that a lot of the "faith-based" groups are nothing more than thin covers for proselytizing missions. Using taxpayer money, whether in whole or in part, to promote one group's particular invisible friend is such a bad idea that it is wronger than wrong.
Everything that the Bush Administration has done has to be viewed with intense skepticism, as it is not for nothing that the Tsar of the Baboons has a 23% approval rating. I submit that it is beyond dispute that the ideologues of the current administration, including ol' Turd Blossom, used the "faith based programs" initiative as a political cudgel and that actually helping people was at the bottom of the priority list for those criminals.
Religious groups should consider that taking money from the government, in the long run, taints the groups as being tools of the government. Or just tools.
"A rubber crowbar is not a useful tool and neither is George Bush"
(OK, that saying had nothing to do with anything, I just threw it in for fun.)

Could we find some serious donor to print a copy of the constitution in LARGE TYPE and present every single congresscritter and senator one each? Just because the decider doesn't understand or support the constitution doesn't mean the rest of the jerks have to imitate him.
Obama should try to appeal to a broad swath of the public, including evangelicals. He is already doing well with young evangelicals. To split that traditionally-held Republican base would be an advantage, and not a disadvantage for the Democratic party.
And I take a certain degree umbrage at your characterization of Bush as the "Tsar of the Baboons". Some of my best friends are baboons! Humans could learn quite a bit from baboons, and I seriously doubt that there is anything that George Bush could teach a baboon.
This pissed me off when I saw it early this morning. Let's get it straight BO no one on the left agreed with this when the chimp pulled this banana of the tree because it's fucking wrong. Try to get the religious types into your fold but goddamnit anyway don't be like this stupid killer in any way. What the fuck is wrong with you?Do this kinda shit anymore and it's going to be a big FUCK YOU!
Doc Z, somewhere I read that the chimpanzees who could communicate in ASL expressed outrage at being compared to Bush, but that they were OK with comparing Bush to baboons.
Actually, I can't think of too many species that wouldn't be offended at being compared to Bush. Maybe pond scum or flesh-eating bacteria?
