I'm thinking it was either:

(A) a rushed job (thus no editorial input beyond "We need a logo, stat!").

OR

(B) The graphic designer knew perfectly well what was going to happen, and sold them the idea that it was "dynamic, in that the T and P symbolize they are united to win the White House", or some such.

I find Terlet Paper ham-dandy. Glad I live in a time where it is soft and splinter free. Hot and cold running water, modern dentistry, air conditioning, and soft lavatory paper make life bearable.

The first thing I thought when I saw that logo was "What is that T doing to that P?" I liked the note that if you turn it upside down, it looks like a handjob...but I warn you, you can never unsee that after you looked at it.
