Did I Hear That Correctly?

Last night, I was working on building a new (to me) desktop computer out of some old and new parts: 2.8 Ghz P-4 IBM 8148, a new hard drive, a DVD-RW from another computer, new ram, and so on. I began the installation of XP Pro and the formatting of the HD.

The TV was on in the background when I heard something along the lines of "Senator Leahy of Vermont will not move forward with a `truth commission' unless he has the backing of some of the members of the GOP caucus. To date, no Republican has agreed to back a truth commission."

The Bush Administration committed war crimes. I submit that Senator Leahy must be smoking crack if he thinks that any legislator from the party of George W. Bush would ever consent to an investigation into the crimes of the Bush Administration.

Since when do we have to get the consent of those associated with criminals in order to launch an investigation? That would be like the Rwandans not proceeding with an investigation because the Hutus objected, or that there could be no investigations into the crimes committed during the Yugoslavian Civil Wars because the Serbians were unhappy.

Sen. Leahy needs to get real and get going.

Ron Paul might.

Justin, the only problem, of course, is that Ron Paul isn't a Senator. I wish he was, somebody needs to bust up the monolithic bunch that is the GOP senate caucus.
