Yep, a real maverick, indeed.

John McCain pledged a "respectful campaign" Tuesday against either Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton, but said he is less confident about the influence of outside political groups.

Here's a memo from his chief campaign thug, which says the same thing.

That pledge was worthless. You'd think that if McCain was the man of honor that he says he is, that he would keep his word. He isn't, he's just another GOP guttersnipe.
