The next time you manage to get into your car or your big-ass SUV, take a look at the steering wheel. Note that behind it, on the left-had side (the side closest to your door), there is a thing that looks like a stick protruding from the steering column.
That thing is called a "turn signal". You use it to signal your turns in advance of slowing down and making the turn.
It is called "courtesy" and "good manners."
You do not come to a dead stop in the middle of the road, leaving the drivers behind you and coming the other way to guess at just what the fuck is passing through that collection of degraded neurons that you happen to refer to as your "brain" before you use the turn signal, if you ever do.
For that shows you are nothing but the mannerless, self-absorbed jerk that you truly are.

This is a good commentary, if perhaps a bit harsh. Things are better down here in Florida, where 32% of the people drive around with their turn signals on all the time.
In Florida, they give discounted licenses to octogenarians if they promise to drive in the far left lane of I-95 at 40mph with their left turn signal on.
That's not true. They get a discount on their auto insurance, not on their driver's licenses.
I will tell you one nifty peculiarity, though. If you lived in, say, New Jersey, with its very harsh gun laws, back in the 80s, and also owned a home in Florida, you might well have had a "Florida Only" driver's license, which clearly stated (in small print) "Florida Only" on it.
This was required for long-term and part-time residents and was carried in addition to your regular, home-of-record DL.
It was very handy for buying things that the State of NJ was reluctant for its residents to own.
