ABC News has agreed to pay $15 million toward Donald Trump’s presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit over anchor George Stephanopoulos’ inaccurate on-air assertion that the president-elect had been found civilly liable for raping writer E. Jean Carroll.
As part of the settlement made public Saturday, ABC News posted an editor’s note to its website expressing regret over Stephanopoulos’ statements during a March 10 segment on his “This Week” program. The network will also pay $1 million in legal fees to the law firm of Trump’s attorney, Alejandro Brito.
The settlement agreement describes ABC’s presidential library payment as a “charitable contribution,” with the money earmarked for a non-profit organization that is being established in connection with the yet-to-be built library.
"Yet-to-be built", that's a laugh. The COFF has a concept of a plan for his "library", which will probably be an IP theft of the plans for the never-built Saddam Hussein Presidential Library.
First off, this is nothing short of a payoff to get the new dictator to not fuck with ABC and the broadcast licenses of both Disney and its affilliates. Penetration, no matter how slight, is rape and that is what the judge said that he did.
Second, anyone who doesn't believe that the cash, in part or all of it, won't find its way into Felon^34's personal coffers has mush for brains. Everything he does is a grift to enrich himself. He'd sell Eric to the Alferd Packer Memorial Slaughterhouse if the price was right.
One thing is becoming obvious: If you want to or read honest coverage of the fuckery of the next Administration, from low-grade grifts to crimes against humanity, you'll do well to look to foreign media outlets. The major American outlets, both broadcast and print, are throwing themselves at the wannabee dictator's feet without even a smidgen of coercion.
ABC-- Always Be Cowardly
