As far as I can tell, the number of self-styled conservatives/Republicans who were concerned about Paul Whelan being imprisoned by Russia was close to zero while the Asset was in office. The number stayed low until they thought that they could use Whelan as a politican club for beating the Biden Administration.

If they didn't give a fuck about Whelan when their guy was in power, then they have zero right to complain now.

Performative. Everything is an act furthering their ambitions by stoking fear and hate. Our nation has lost track of this: that hate and prejudice are poisonous and corrosive and incredibly costly in the long run. They are selling hard drugs on every street corner and in their media empires.
