That'll Buff Right Out

More here.

I'm not seeing the need to punch out, but I'm no hotshot jet pilot.

The plane's system may have triggered an automatic eject. It's looking like there was an onboard malfunction that crashed the computers before the plane itself crashed.

My dad was a Navy pilot for 20 years. One night while trying to land his plane in Norfolk, his plane's onboard systems failed. He was still able to land it in one piece, but the experience must have freaked him out because he retired right then, and I NEVER saw him take another flight again (he insisted on driving everywhere).

Pretty decent video for shooting it from the far southwest corner of the base. You can tell by the alignment of the tower and the two buildings around it. In fact, the fence in the video is about 601 S Grants Lane, White Settlement, TX...in the parking lot of SPM Flow Control, Pump Building A. Call it 1/3 of a mile plus from the impact point.
