The Medical Risk Foisted on Travelers By the TSA

Either submit to a whole-body X-ray or don't fly.

The manufacturers of the scanners are saying: "They're safe. Trust Us. Would we lie to you?" Nobody has really checked the machines. And given the fact that there has been no shortage of x-ray accidents with medical machines, you might be forgiven for not being willing to trust the manufacturers or the TSA on this.

I'd like to see the TSA and FDA officials who approved the scanners have to be scanned by the machines at least four times a day.

As for the choice presented in the first paragraph, I'll go for "don't fly". My idea of fun does not include being irradiated by a machine operated by an agency that is so notoriously inept as the TSA.

I agree. Don't fly.

15 years from now, when the monied class is wracked with cancer, and thousands have died from TSA accidents, things will change. Slowly.

I second the idea on the TSA & FDA officials being scanned at least 4 times a day.

Meanwhile, I continue to take the bus--or stay home.
