Mike Parsons is the Dumbest Governor in Office, Bar None

A health department analysis shows Missouri cities that require masks to combat the coronavirus pandemic this year saw fewer infections, but Republican Gov. Mike Parson insisted Thursday that mandates don't work.

The analysis was first reported Wednesday by The Missouri Independent and the Documenting COVID-19 project at The Brown Institute for Media Innovation following an open-records request.

Parson's office asked the health department for information on the impact of mask mandates on infections, according to emails obtained in the request.

In response, the agency last month compared infection rates in urban centers, where mask mandates were in place, with rural areas between April and November.

The data shows that cities with mask mandates saw fewer infections and deaths across the board.

So, to recap, Parsons asked for a study to be done about the effectiveness of masks to prevent COVID transmission. The study showed that masks work. Parsons sat on the study, refusing to release it. But once the press found out about it, Parsons then pitched a fit because the research didn't support his ideology. He is truly dumber than a bag of hammers.

A close second is Ron DuhSantis of Florida. He's seeking to create his own force of armed (and presumably unvaccinated) goons. Maybe he can do better than Utah did, which disbanded its own state guard after reports surfaced that it was populated with Nazis, felons and mental patients.

Given DieSantis's rather fascistic leanings, it wouldn't be a surprise if he used his new company of brownshirts to disrupt protest demonstrations and terrorize places that try to do something to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

On the other hand, it's probably pretty clear that the Founders approved of state militias, so I guess we'll just have to see what Ron the Power-Mad does with his thugs.

Jeez. American exceptionalism. Stupid-stupid plus Streisand Effect. Pulls out his dick, more or less tells everyone to watch, and then steps on it with cleated golf shoes.

We used to laugh at Italy and Berlusconi. No more

I bet Kevin Strickland doesn't think too highly of him either.
We have a state guard here in California, about 900 of them, and they mostly fight wildfires and help out after earthquakes and during floods, though lately they have been doing mostly covid related duty. I doubt that Gavin Reptile would do anything too crazy with them.
