I was surprised at the short length of the runway. The early jets tended to be runway hogs, or that was the reason given for the unwillingness to fly the F-80 and 86 out of the Pusan Pocket. They used the ex-WW-II Mustangs for close air support from fields in the pocket because the jets needed a smooth and long runway, or so they said. It's probably got an uprated engine, but still.
I was also surprised it had the drop tanks, but I guess you need them for any decent range in a British fighter. There is a warning that you must retract the gear "promptly" lest the airflow interaction with underwing stores make the gear doors refuse to close.
I don't remember Mount Peculiar as being all that long. But I haven't been in there in 20+ years.
