Left Handed Movie Ads

Critics and audiences agree: "Angels and Demons" is better than "The Da Vinci Code".
At least that is what the current TV ad claims. From what I've heard of the movie of The Da Vinci Code, that is sort of like saying that something is more pleasant than being punched in the throat.

By the way, does anyone have a comment on the new Star Trek movie?

Enjoyed "Trek", has all the right stuff humor, bad ass alien, and a pushy "Kirk". Way worth the admission.

If you are a hard core trekkie, you won't like it. However, if you can accept that it is a reboot of the franchise, it is pretty good.

Da Vinci ... I can watch Tom Hanks in almost anything, but the movie was pretty bad. Even the book, entertaining pot boiler that it was, was hilariously badly written. The dialog in particular was "it was a dark and stormy night" material.

Shrug. What else are they going to say in ad text? I miss Don LaFontaine, he could make anything sound cool in a preview.

We saw Star Trek last night ( Imax... holy crap! ) Just as full of stuff blowing up and fight scenes as I expected, light on other plot. It was noisy fun, and worth it for the baby Spock & Kirk. I look forward to the sequel, maybe something with ideas beyond kill-the-villan-and-save-the-planet/galaxy/universe.

Incidentally, the preview was Transformers-2. For that one, the invading baddy plot was crossed with a hidden symbol & secrets ( pyramids & the whole bit ) ala da Vinci. Nothing wrong with comic-book movies, I just like a little more depth.. guess I'm no longer the target market.

For an interesting gay take on the movie, read

Makes me want to go see it even more!

I never watch new movies until they work their way to network primetime television, and by that time they're old movies.

I'm a medium-core Trekkie, and I liked it. There are a lot of little tie-ins to the older movies and the series.

At first, it ticked me off. Certain plot points countered the canon pretty heavily. However, once I realized what they were trying to do and how they were trying to reboot the franchise, I enjoyed it much more.

Good movie. Worth seeing.
