That was the line of the party of Hoover and their pundits for nearly eight years: Criticizing George W. Bush in any way, especially criticizing how he (mis)handled the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was treason.
But now that they are not in power, the very same people are going to do everything they can to oppose President Obama. Even if it sinks the economy of the country, the Hooverites are going to fight everything proposed by Obama and the Democrats just because they can. There is no rationality or intellectual basis for what they do, it is as reflexive and as unthinking as a cobra battling a mongoose.
Never forget this: "Bipartisan" to the party of Hoover means "you agree to do it my way." It would be nice if Obama can indeed change the tone in Washington. But I don't see that happening. The poisoned tone in Washington is just what the Hooverites want and it is all they can envision.
It will only change with the removal of more Hooverites until they get the message that governance is a matter for grownups, not a bunch of kids wearing short pants in a sand box and fighting over a Tonka truck. For that is the mindset that they bring to the job.

Oh, I remember. Wonder why no one on the other side of the aisle does?
