150 Years Ago, It Was Called "Treason"

Advocating for secession from the United States is treason, plain and simple.

But that is the sole point of existence for the Alaska Independence Party, and it is a party that Sarah Palin has supported for a long time. Her husband was a member of that party.

The AIP hates the United States. They despise the American Flag
.

Last time I checked, advocating secession was considered to be treason. Are the Palins traitors? Why was she, as both mayor of Wasilla and governor of Alaska, cozying up to a bunch of traitors? How can you consider yourself to be an American patriot when you hang out with traitors, when you go to their political conventions?

You can bet your ass that if Barack Obama went anywhere near a Black separatist meeting, that you'd hear no end of the screaming from the Right. But they are silent on Palin's embrace of a separtist movement.

Guess it's the same old shit: It's OK if Republicans do it.

Beyond that, the AIP is nothing more than a bunch of fucking whack-jobs. From time to time, they seem to think, at some point, they can federate with Canada, which ignores the fine point that the Canadian government has a far, far dimmer view than does the AIP of the right to own firearms. The Canadian government is a bit more socialist than the AIP, with things like universal health care and that really objectionable program called "taxation."

So there they are, 640,000 Alaskans, sitting right next to a rising military power that has flexed its muscles recently, a power where some of its own ultra-nationalists have restated that they have a claim on Alaska, that the sale of Alaska to the U.S. in 1867 was illegal.

640,000 Alaskans.

Georgia, a country of over 5,120,000, wasn't much of a challenge for the Russian Army.

Вы по-русски? Нет? Жаль.
(Do you speak Russian? No? That's a pity.)

Then you had better start learning it, you're going to need it.
