The same truth applies to hard hat zones.

A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

While number 1 IS FUNNY, IMHO it doesn't quite apply to the current debate over the ineffective face covering Kabuki Theater. Using face coverings to prevent spreading COVID-19 is like using a chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out of your yard. If anything, people should be wearing N95s or fully enclosed respirators to prevent CATCHING COVID-19.
I wear the simple surgical mask in the clinical setting only. Once we exit the hospital, the masks come right off and go in the garbage. We use a fresh one each time.
I may borrow an SCBA from the FD next time I go to WalMart, just for giggles.
Not a hardhat, a habit. Don't get out of the truck without it. Saved my scrawny ass more than a couple of times.
Cold-hearted but I was in the Army, am one of the dishonored: anti-maskers are walking Darwin Awards wasting air my grandkids, my brand new great grand kid need to survive. The sooner they catch the Trump Flu and die, the better off the rest of us will be.
Witold, the N95’s wearers in Kroger annoy me because they are ignoring my health, much like those with those vented masks. Both types don’t control exhaled breath, unlike cloth masks. The simple masks help me not give you the virus, I’ d like similar curtesy.
Oh boy. Here we go again. Mask or no mask. Those that refuse to wear a mask will cite any or all of:
1. They don't work.
2. I have a medical condition.
3. It violates my rights.
4. The government is grooming us into obedience.
5. (Insert other crackpot theory here)
1. The fact is the N in N95 masks means it is non-petroleum, meaning it is not to be used for oil based filtering. The 95 means it stops 95% of particles 3 microns or less.
The argument that wearing a face covering is Kabuki theater is absurd. Even if you wear an N95 mask 5% of any virus particles can get in. And that's if the air you are breathing is 100% virus filled. So lets just say you have a 5% chance of getting sick while wearing an N95. If you wear a face covering that filters 80%, you still have a 20% chance of catching the virus. Say someone wears a scarf that stops 25%, they still have a 75% chance of getting ill. If you don't wear anything at all, you'd have a 100% chance. So common sense (not really so common) says you're better off with anything rather than nothing at all.
Now the air around us in NOT 100% virus filled otherwise we'd all be infected right now. So those N95s go way up in terms of protection. Similarly, the other face coverings, whether they are scarfs, kerchiefs, surgical masks, homemade whatevers, their efficiency goes up too. Why wouldn't anyone want to wear a mask. Even during a house fire, it is recommended to cover your face with a wet piece of cloth while evacuating.
2. To those that claim to have a medical condition, what condition would prevent someone from not becoming worse after being exposed to Covid? Someone with COPD should definitely be wearing a mask, if not staying away from others altogether. Claustiphobia (my sister-in-law's claim)? Get real. You cover your face while outdoors and that gives you anxiety? My god, what do you do during Michigan winters, go outside with no hat, gloves and scarf because you'd feel trapped? Please. If I have not listed your medical condition, please enlighten me as to why your need to be out in public without a mask and risk catching the virus outweighs the "dangers" of you covering your face.
3. Your right to exercise not wearing a mask is your prerogative. But you don't have the right to infect others if you happen to be an asymptomatic carrier. I respect your right to not wear one. Please respect my right by not breathing in my direction and staying far away from me.
4. Some theorists live to come up with any idea of a global conspiracy where the entire population of Earth is controlled by only a small chosen number, and thereby everyone falls into line while only a few 'enlightened' folks see through the charade. Put away your tin foil hats and start living your life as best as you can. You only have 75-85 years on this orb (unless you hit the gene-pool lottery), make the best of it.
When I stop and think about it, I'd be willing to bet that if everyone wears a mask for about 4-6 weeks while outside their house, this pandemic would quickly come under control and everyone could get back to their 'normal' lives.

I wonder if "it was breathing in my space without a mask" would count as a Stand Your Ground, Castle Doctrine defense?
The mask is for the air your breathing thats 90% virus filled...
by you not the other guy. For that its effective.
For all that will not wear...
If you doc were to stitch up a chainsaw injury and did not
wear a mask what would your reaction be?
How about for your laparoscopic gallbladder surgery?
EVERYONE forgets its not incoming, that bomb is lobbed,
its your production of that possible bomb. Your trying by
wearing a mask to not give what you may [or may not] have
to others.
Ten Bears; I think you can go there only if a easy exit
is being made impossible or its your property [posted].
Like many situation is the word no is not honored it
may require stronger attention getting methods.
The rules are simple, those that own the property or
control it say wear mask you do... or leave.
I agree the government is an ass... however.
In my yard you wear one, I'm the controlling authority!
Or stay at least 6-10 feet away minimally if outdoors.
My rules. Start any winey ass excuse and I will with
prejudice enforce the leave now rule.
The world works that way, spout first Amendment to me,
I will remind you who [what entity] is restricted and
from doing what. Hint: I am not the government. I
will then point to the exit you will use. Failure to
be prompt about leaving is critical.
Eck!
