Guilty as Charged

[Roger] Stone was convicted Friday of all seven counts in a federal indictment that accused him of lying to Congress, tampering with a witness and obstructing the House investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia to tip the 2016 election.
Stone joins a long line:
Mr. Stone, 67, joins a notable list of former Trump aides convicted of lying to federal authorities. It includes Mr. Gates; Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser; Michael D. Cohen, the president’s longtime personal lawyer and fixer, and George Papadopoulos, a former Trump campaign aide. And his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who was also once Mr. Stone’s partner in a political consulting firm, was convicted of a string of financial crimes and is serving a seven-and-a-half-year prison term.
I am certain, down to the soles of my feet, that Trump will pardon Stone for his fuckery. Because the rule of law is a laughable concept to Trump. And, evidently, to the rest of his party of indicted criminals.

So now we have 6 Trump associates either convicted or pled guilty to lying to Congress or law officials. Think that’s proof enough to his supporters that this group of folks cannot be trusted? Prob’ly not.

And I find it funny that the Republican argument is that since the Ukraine did not investigate Biden, and the weapons were released anyway, then no crime was committed. So I guess that if one’s spouse gets dressed up, goes out, and tries to hook up with someone else but is unsuccessful, then since nothing happened, you can’t be angry at them. Same moronic argument.

So it's kinda interesting that on the day Fergus live tweeted intimidation about a testifying witness, Roger Stone was convicted of (along with six other felonies) witness intimidation, for which he might do twenty years.

Wouldn't it be sweet if his sentences run consecutive, so I am vindictive, as Mulvaney said get over it.

EBM: FALN, Marc Rich.

Doug: I guess it was a bit interesting if you think Stone is significant.
Who really intimidated the witness?

Mike: yep, let's lock the old fucker up for life, he's a real danger to society.

Dona, try comparing the number of Obama associates guilty of felonies in eight years to the number of Trump associates guilty of felonies in less than three years.

If you choose to defend the party of corruption, that's your call.

If you can’t do the time, Donas, don’t do the crime. Or are you against jailing elderly offenders in general? Doesn’t seem very L&O to me.

Donas, having worked to make our republic less honest and more corrupt and support authoritarians, in other words subvert the honest and fair elections certainly seems that such a person would be a threat. In case you missed it this is what Roger Stone has done his whole political career. Remember the tattoo on his back is of a guy who interfered in the peace talks with North and South Vietnam. Do you think a lot of young men paid a terrible price for that interference, Roger picked that side, so it sucks to be him.

He'll get 6-8 months as a first offender. He'll enjoy it, make new friends, buff up the guns, get some great material for his book, 'My Struggle Against the Deep State'-Mein Kamph').
He comes out of stir in fabulous Club Fed with a best seller (bulk sales to reich-wing enablers as with trump Jr's tome), big sexy biceps, some sexy new buffed out friends and a new trump back tattoo just below Nixon's skin portrait.
So, win/win for Roger Stone, who comes out a winner despite being a lawless evil troll boasting a lifetime of rat*ucking of our democracy for sweet sweet rightwing grifting dough.
Trump will not pardon Stone, IMO, he hardly knew Stone who worked for him for only a short time as coffee boy.
