At least three women and six children, all apparently U.S. citizens, were slaughtered by drug cartel gunmen in northern Mexico, officials said Tuesday. Six children were found alive, one child had a bullet wound and one child was still missing.Mormons moved to Mexico because they wanted to escape the restrictions of U.S. laws on what they viewed as their religious liberties. Polygamy has been illegal in Mexico for a very long time, but their forebears and yes, they, chose to live in an area where there wasn't and isn't a lot of law and what law there was/is, can be adjusted by the proper application of folding money.[1]
...
A relative said the victims lived in the hamlet of La Mora in Sonora state, a decades-old settlement founded as part of an offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
There have been some rumors that the Mexican Mormons and the local cartels have had some sort of arrangement in the past. The shootings may be mistaken identity. They may be a form of very bloody revenge.
But I have a suspicion that there is more here than cartel gunmen shooting up innocent Americans.
None of which has stopped Trump from telling the Mexican government that he is willing to send troops to "help out".
Update: This story just gets ookier.
