This time around, well, I guess things look different when one is sitting the Big Chair.
President* Trump said Thursday night that the United States had carried out a missile strike in Syria in response to the Syrian government’s chemical weapons attack this week, which killed more than 80 civilians. Was this the right thing to do? Possibly, yes.
But there is one thing that I know about Donald Trump from his track record of forty years: Trump never does anything because it's the right thing to do. I doubt if that consideration has ever entered his mind. Trump's M.O. is always ubi est mea ("where's mine" or "what's in it for me") and never pro bono.
I have things to do, so I'll leave the question "what was in this for Trump" hanging.

Here is one take on it:

I'm not so sure that Barry could really have prevented this though, even if he did blink when the "red Line" was crossed.
I'm not sure what could be in it for Donnie though...Maybe he owns stock in the folks that make the missiles?
At some point one has to shoot the rabid dog.
You give our carnival barker from the world wrassling federation way too much credit. Funny thing happened on the way to the airstrike: Putin’s Poodle gave the Russians a call, told ’em we were coming. We just burned up fifty-nine million dollars worth of Tomahawk cruise missles bombing the shit out of an empty parking lot.
B., Obama asked Congress for authorization to strike Syria, and then pulled the request when Congressional Republicans announced they wouldn't support it and a count showed not enough votes to pass the request. If that's "blinking", I'm Kelly Ripa.
Thomas, the call was on the Syrian theatre "deconfliction" line, so Putin probably didn't know till almost zero...wonder what he'll do with the RNC files.
I have been wondering how long before Putin figures put this wasn't such a good idea afterall.
I wonder if there were any Iranians around the target area? The Russians aren't as fanatical as the Iranians, and we do have around a thousand soldiers in Syria for the Iranians to get mad at...

Latest word is the Syrian aircraft departed before the missiles arrived...
