Shed No Tears For the TOFF

Civilly adjudged as a rapist and a liar, the TOFF sought to delay enforcement of a judgment for his misdeeds. But because, among other things, his crack team of lawyers sat on their hands for over three weeks, the judge was having none of it.

A federal judge on Thursday denied Donald Trump's request to delay enforcement of the writer E. Jean Carroll's $83.3 million verdict in her recent defamation case.
...
In the Jan. 26 verdict, jurors agreed with Carroll, a former Elle magazine advice columnist, that Trump had defamed her in June 2019 by denying he had raped her in the mid-1990s in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in Manhattan.

Kaplan made the verdict official on Feb. 8, and gave Trump 30 days to post a bond or cash during his appeal, which is expected to challenge the jury's finding of liability and the amount of damages.

Trump had sought to delay enforcement of the verdict until Kaplan ruled on his motions to throw it out, which he filed on Tuesday.

But the judge said Trump should not have waited 25 days after the verdict before seeking a delay.

He also said Trump failed to show how he might suffer "irreparable injury" if required to post a bond.

"Mr. Trump's current situation is a result of his own dilatory actions," the judge wrote.

The guy who said that he was so rich that he could pay for his own campaign, that he's worth billions and billions, can't cough up one percent of his claimed net worth to cover this?

Maybe he can get a loan from his son-in-law, the one who got a $4B slush fund from the Gulf Arabs.

And while he's at it, he now has to pay $382K after losing his UK defamation lawsuit.

Which brings up this point: Is it really possible to defame him? He's a serial liar, a rapist, an insurrectionist, a wannabee incest perpetrator, an adulterer, a wife-beater, an admirer of Hitler, a favorite of Putin, a scientific illiterate, a draft-dodger and that's just for starters. Soon, we'll be able to add convicted felon to the list.

As far as we know, all he hasn't done is to rob bodegas and shoot people.

ETA: He posted a bond. One day after his lying mouthpiece implied that he couldn't.

I really have to believe Musk is going to cover the bills. And my other half received her daily forwarded email from her family to pray for Gods anointed as well as maybe just donate "what we can afford". her sister suggested even as small an amount as 500 bucks would get Gods attention.
It never ends.

I only want to know one thing... When does the Sheriff show up
at his door?

So TOFF should be treated like anyone else..

So he got a subsidiary of Chubb Insurance (you can't make this shit up) to float him a bond of nearly $92 million. Whether he can get them to go him $450 million is still TBD.

Should be named “Chump Insurance”. He probably had to pledge property to secure it. And the fee’s probably north of ten mil.

RE his getting a bond instead of paying out of his readies means that:
#1 He really believes that shit is for other people (like L. Helmsley) and he cannot, under a Heaven where he has his 'just' place, ever be found guilty of anything. AND/OR
#2: He really doesn't have the readies.

Pity there doesn't seem to be any justice for this simple, good-hearted, honest man of God.

Deelish.

Stewart, I'll run with that one. Thanks.

Chubb used to be the go-to company insuring wealthy people's stuff.Their success made them wealthy and hubristic, as it tends to, so they branched out into crop insurance and lost their shirt.Apparently they didn't lose everything.
