A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.
Slava Ukraini!

That is a Mars light.
"Mars light...oh, I'll google that..."
Damnit, Comrade, another 20 minutes down the Interweb ratholes!
awesome!!!
What is the car right behind the tenders? A generator car?
B, that's an Amtrak locomotive.
Most steam locomotives aren't set up to provide services to modern passenger cars. (The first few generations of diesels had boilers to provide steam for heating.)
Also, if there is an issue that causes the steam locomotive to have to drop its fires, the diesel can take over. Or provide additional tractive force if necessary. (Or if the steam locomotive is for show.)
Ah, I wondered. 'Cause the diesel in that car was working hard.
I'd be curious to know if the steam engine has a set up to remotely control attached diesels. It would make sense to do it that way.
Looks like they are, judging by this post from 2011:
