In the Event That You Thought We Settled This "States' Rights" Bullshit on The Battlefield

You would be so wrong. The idiots in the Republican Party (and I recognize the redundancy) are bound and determined to resurrect the pro-slavery and pro-segregation doctrine that the states can nullify Federal laws.

It is not raping the environment or giving the Executive the untrammeled power to detain people without trial or to search their homes or to wiretap their phones or to torture them that is so upsetting the Wingnuts. No, they don't have a problem with such things. As we have seen from the "ZOMG, DHS is investigating the racist haters" flap of a month or so ago, the Right cares nothing for violations of rights and liberties and freedoms (only so long as it is their rights which are not being truncated).

It is, believe it or not, the prospect that the Federal government may raise the tax rates on the rich that has the modern-day states-rightists in a tizzy. The Wingnuts are willing to skate right over into treason in order to defend the incomes of Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck. The "teabaggers" are at their core, just as stupid as the dirt-poor Southern farmers who got conned into shedding their blood to defend the rights of rich slaveowners.

The question of "states' rights" was settled on the battlefield 144 years ago. 620,000 soldiers died to answer the question of whether or not the Federal government was superior to the states. The answer, paid for with blood, was "yes." That it is the self-styled "party of Lincoln" which is busily defecating over everything Lincoln that stood for and that he died for, should come as no surprise to anyone.

The only similarity left now between the GOP and Abraham Lincoln is that both are "a-mouldering in the graves."

I have to disagree about the GOP is in it's grave. It is a zombie, freshly risen from the burial of the last two elections, and is merely wandering the land, in search of BRAINZ!

They know they are fucked nationally and now are trying to shit in their mess kit on a state by state basis.
Seen the movement to bypass the BATF lately?
Make a gun in state that does not move out of state so it does not fall under the Commerce Act?

Put a bright red sticker on 'em and put them in the road so I won't miss.

Idiots.
I am so fucking sick of these retarded motherfuckers.
They are shit disturbers of the first magnitude.

"Make a gun in state that does not move out of state so it does not fall under the Commerce Act?"This is being done by the same party that managed to win a SCOTUS victory that essentially said that the federal government has jurisdiction over drugs even if the drugs do not leave the state? Seems to be a bit of a double standard, go figure.

Actually, the only thing that the war from 144 years ago proved is that if a state leaves the country it better have better army and supply chain.

Busted, that is really a stupid idea. Unless the iron (or bauxite) for the frame was mined in the state, refined in the state, poured in the state, forged/cast in the state and then machined in the state, it is going to qualify as having been in interstate commerce.

Heck, if they blog about it or place a telephone call to a supplier or mail an order, that'll be enough to tie it to interstate commerce.

If one of these idiots think they can get around the law by just making their toys in their own state, they are going to spend a lot of very enlightening years in a Federal pen.

Asswipes, all of them.
