Sleazeball Alert to Orange!

I'm not automatically assuming that there is something sleazy hidden within the Clintons' tax returns. But they did release the information on a Friday afternoon, which is a time typically used for releasing unfavorable news. You may have noted that every time the Bush Administration has to put out bad news or news that makes them look like the idiots they are, they release it late in the day on a Friday.

$109 million in earnings over seven years. That's an average income of a skosh over $42,000 per day. Each and every goddamn day, for over 2,557 days.

Yeah, they feel your pain, all right.

And that may what they are trying to have people ignore.

The Friday afternoon dump is a PR problem. The amount of earnings may be off-putting. But what really troubles me is that the Clintons will be subject to a much scrutiny for their new money. This scrutiny will far surpass anything the Bushes or other have endured.

Will McCain's part in the Keating scandal get this kind of scrutiny and press? No. How about the fact that he cheated on his first wife with heiress Cindy, resulting in windfall that helped him launch his political career? No.

By virtue of being The Clintons, the scrutiny is ratcheted up.

Oh, I think McCain's turn in the barrel is on the horizon.
