The Party of Retards

The Democrats. All along, the Bush Administration has had no respect for the letter of the law. If there is a line that shouldn't be crossed, they cross it. If Bush wanted to kill someone in the Rose Garden, he would. When he was a kid, if his mother told him he could ride his bike to the store, the little monkey would have pedaled to Houston "because they got better stores there."

So it was with some dismay that I read this article on the New York Times's website that the Bush Administration thinks that Congress will give them all of the wiretapping powers that their evil black hearts desire.

Either the Democrats are a bunch of drooling retards who cannot learn from past events, or they are a bunch of craven cowards who are so afraid of being blamed for doing something that they'll give Chimpy everything he wants.

The Democrats would do well to heed this point: The Republicans may be heading for near-term political oblivion because they became more interested in having power than in being wise stewards of the government. The GOP became the party of expansive Federal powers, of irrational fiscal policies and a party of cronies and hacks and, and as a result, they lost Congress and may be further shellacked next year.

Democrats, listen up: If you sell your principles and the Constitution down the river so you can "retain your majority," you will not have a majority to retain for very long.

By acting solely in the interests of political power, you show yourselves to be no different at your core than the Republicans.

If you give Bush all of the wiretapping powers he wants, you are either a bunch of craven cowards, a pack of retards or a bunch of inbred inside-the-Beltway hacks.

Maybe it truly is time for a third party to come forth.

Which is why I quit supporting them many years ago, along with the Republicans.

Wow. I am going to have to Google that one and find out where it came from. That's a great quote.

How about all of the above? They had the opportunity to make a principled stand to show that the US does not stand for the crap that has happened the past few years; they ran from it.

Jeff, you're right. "All of the above" is a valid choice.
