And so, we have this:
President Donald Trump has commuted the sentence of his longtime political confidant Roger Stone...I have no doubt that the only thing standing between Stone and a pardon is the election. Once that's over, Trump will pardon him. You can bet heavily on that.
If this were a righteous act, Trump would have done it during the middle of the week. A Friday evening announcement is proof enough that even Trump knows that this stinks of corruption.
Stone worships Richard Nixon. Nixon got off scot-free for his crimes. And now, so shall Stone.
ETA: Others are arguing that if Trump pardons Stone, then Stone could then be compelled to testify against Trump. I don't think that Trump is capable of thinking that through. If Stone whines enough on Fox News, Trump will pardon him.

Department of (who's) Justice? Al Capone is rolling over in his grave. He could have become a National Hero if he'd only been born a few years later.

A lot of hinky shit will come down in the lame duck, most likely.

Thile they pursued him for crimes Capone's undoing was by the IRS..
Also time is not on his side, sooner or later his is out of office
and the world changes.
Eck!
Friday morning, Stone's last appeals court ruled against him.
Later Friday, Trump commutes his sentence.
I guess Trump could've waited until he was in jail.
