Adam Hoffman, a 49-year-old Waco attorney, was facing life without parole for the continuous sexual abuse of a young boy. Ken Paxton’s office took the case, sat on it for nearly three years and then offered him a deal to plead guilty to two misdemeanors and serve one day in jail.
Plus no registration as a sex offender, to boot.
If Hoffman hadn't been an influential attorney, he would have done life in prison, at least, until somebody shanked him. But Paxton dropped the felony counts and agreed to let him plead out to two misdemeanors. As it is, the judge sentenced him to two months in jail and he served one. He got out yesterday morning.

Hey, the whole Right wing family values thing is aspirational. Of course, the aspirations are pretty dark. And the reason they hammer the Left on this is plain and simple psychological projection.
What dirt did Adam Hoffman have on Paxton to get the deal? They really should be cellmates. Or Republican Senators by today's standards.

Perhaps no dirt was needed. After all, laws are for us peasants. The gentry may do as they will.
Texas Dems need to name drop Hoffman and spell out the crimes he's committed to every media outlet, point out how he and Paxton are such good buddies, and print out 50-ft posters of his face and his crimes to stand outside of every Paxton rally for the rest of the year.

The whole thing plays into all the bad taste and stereotyping slams on pedophilia and incest down South. But Paxton and apparently TX doesn't care; just another brick in the wall of a no 'count lowlife culture.
