You claimed that the businesses WANTED it, I disagreed, and pointed out why I thought so.
Few business owners that I know (and I know quite a few across much of the midwest) would require masks were it not for the new "emergency" regulations from the health department.

As to whether it is a good idea, that is another question, and we can debate that if you'd like. But that does NOT mean that the businesses WANT masks. Your statement that most businesses would "love" to post a sign like your example is more than likely incorrect. You confuse (or are conflating) the two issues of want and need for regulations.; 10/04/2020 6:34 PM
JustMusing said...: Many of my local businesses mandate customers wear masks and enforce it. My firsthand experience includes Home Depot, NAPA Auto, Safeway, Albertsons, New Seasons, Shell, Chevron, and Harbor Freight. They have installed protective plastic barriers at the registers (cashiers are masked) and provide sanitizer gel as well as curbside order pickup. Physical distancing is required and there are guidelines painted on the floors along aisles and at checkout. Why? Because those business know (at least where I live) that customers will only shop in the stores that provide those safety features and rules.
