What about the GPS logs on the cars??? Oh wait... never mind
Yep.
One of our local station shows "Adam-12" and "Dragnet." I know Jack Webb had tremendous respect for the police, but even he wasn't blind to their potential failings. He did an entire episode of "Dragnet" where they ran a background check on an applicant to the LAPD, and rejected him due to his troubling past. Webb's "You're a bad cop" speech still rings true today.
I even remember the "Officer Friendly" program. Where they sent a uniformed officer to the grade school classes to try and convince you he was a 'nice guy'.
He'd probably just growl and start shooting today. And I did see the one where the cop shot himself while performing 'cop talks' for the class.
"Duck and Cover" wasn't only for 'the bomb' it turns out.

I used to trust the police. Not anymore. I sort of trust the local Sheriff and deputies. The major city police; one county over? Not on your life, much less mine...
They paid over $14 million in three years for abuse and misbehavior (MPLS, MN).
