Pat Oliphant's take on it.
One of the features of the Romneybot is that the "pander" button has been jammed in the "on" position for the last six years. Which is why the Romneybot has no memory of signing the Massachusetts health care reform bill into law, AKA "Romneycare".
Note the white-haired gentleman standing behind Romney's left shoulder. That's Ted Kennedy, the man that every conservative despises. He was there because Romney couldn't have gotten his health care law passed without Kennedy's help in persuading Democrats in the Massachusetts legislature to support the bill.

RomneyCare is of course the exact same thing as ObamaCare, which I suppose we can call Obamneycare (the only thing that the shrieking harridan Michelle Bachmann got right). So Romney is in the peculiar position of campaigning against his very own health care plan. And if you think Obama was not already maneuvering for re-election when he made sure that RomneyCare got implemented as "his" health care plan, when it was already known at that time that Romney was the likely candidate for 2012... well.
I'm sure The Romney is going to spin this, because The Romney has more spin than a front-loading washing machine, but it's going to strain The Romney's credibility in ways that even dolt-Americans are going to notice. The Republicans would have been better off running that front-loading washing machine for President. A Whirlpool Duet spins well too and has more personality and charisma than The Romney. Just sayin'.
