I just watched the premiere of that series, though the word "series" might be an optimistic statement. It has to be one of the stupidest and most moronic cop shows in a very, very long time.
Let me put it this way: To get me to watch it again, you had best bring a gun or a very large sum of money. For it will take either one to get me to waste another hour on that putrid heap of dreck.

Okay, so you didn't like it. What, exactly, did you not like about it? I mean, I'm not going to watch it, but it'd be interesting to know *why* I'm not going to watch it ;).

Imagine that you had some hack of a screenwriter who decided to try to rip off the sort of characters dreamed up by Carl Hiaasen, only make them cops and criminals and set the cop show in Dallas.
So there is one cop, played by the curly-haired short guy from "the West Wing" who is an alcoholic, a 1980s burnout who is coasting on the fame of his one big case from back then. His partner, played by Tom Hanks's kid, is some anal-retentive grammar freak. They go around investigating crimes like the theft of a dehumidifier.
The show is trying too hard to be funny, wry and ironic and it fails hard at all three. Critics will probably regard it as "edgy".
I predict the viewing public will regard it as "stupid." This isn't a show with real potential that Fox fucked up like "Firefly", this one is a trainwreck from day one.
It's edgy alright.. and they are quite rough.
It doesn't work. I was hoping for some laughs but, no so.
Eck!
Concur. Watched it last night because I was vaguely interested by the premise, but it fails on so many levels. Not gonna watch that again.
