SpaceX has taken steps to prevent Ukraine's military from using the company's Starlink satellite internet service for controlling drones in the region during the country's war with Russia, SpaceX's president said Wednesday.
SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service, which has provided Ukraine's military with broadband communications in its defense against Russia's military, was "never never meant to be weaponized," Gwynne Shotwell, SpaceX's president and chief operating officer, said during a conference in Washington, D.C.
Musk is a tool and now he's showing that to the world.
This is a fairly binary situation: You're either standing with Ukraine or you're standing with Russia. Not helping Ukraine is akin to helping Russia. The old saying is true: The middle of the road is marked by a yellow stripe and so are those who aren't taking a stand. Giving/selling the Ukrainians Starlink terminals for military comms, but not for controlling drones, is quibbling.
The Danes borrowed a word to designate their fellow Scandinavians in one country who refused to take a stand during that war. They called them Quislings. And that describes Musk to a fucking T.

Hmmmmm I know the conventional wisdom is to back Ukraine, and it is the long game, but short term, Lib ownership seems to be the way to go. Ahhh the hell with it, shut off Starlink.
So since you are not Helping Ukraine, you must be helping Russia then...
Or are you somehow helping them prosecute their war and just not telling us?
Congratulations!!
You’ve reached a new high when it comes to making inane comments, B.
Or a new low.
Whichever applies.
Siding with someone without actually aiding someone does not mean that you are now on the opposite side. In simpler terms, cheering for a team in an athletic contest does not have to involve your actually playing in the game, you still have taken a side.

Maybe it's just my having grown up in the Cold War, did a Tour of Duty, but it wouldn't bother me one damned bit if Russia were bombed back to the stone-age. My only hope we hold off long enough to get all the Russia Lovers rounded up, stuffed into cattle-cars and shipped there ...
Quibble quibble. I think Quisling was the PM of Norway and went all squishy for the Germans (Nazis) when they invaded in WW II.
Your assessment of Mr. Musk seems correct from everything I have seen. When will these bozos realize they may be "worth" elevendy seven bazillion dollars on paper, but that is only if each share of their stock in their company is worth $XX,000. In the days of Fisk and Gould it was paper wealth, now days it is in 1s and 0s in a computer somewhere and you don't even have examples of the engraving and printing arts to show. Might as well be in the form of Bitcoin or NFTs for all the good it will do him.
Musk is as fake as his tweets:
"Elon Musk slammed for amplifying fake story about hundreds of ‘Nato trainers’ dying in Ukraine"

Nor is he a genius or self-made. He's more Trump than he wants you to believe; so

Is Elon a fraud and a charlatan? Just give his Ego some more time; he will continue to prove it is so.
SO apply the same criteria to yourself:
How are YOU "Helping Ukraine"?
Musk has done more than you, I would bet (If you've done anything at all).
Pleas, instead of undeserved derision as a means to deflect having to answer the question, give some facts. What have YOU done? I mean, to quote someone I know: "Not helping Ukraine is akin to helping Russia"
You're full of shit, B.
What Musk has done for Ukraine has been by providing gizmos and access from a publicly-traded company. In short, it hasn't been his money. (Not to mention that the EU and Ft. Fumble are looking into paying for it because they don't trust Musk.)
If a non-rich citizen has donated fifty or a hundred bucks to a Ukraine charity, they have given more, as a percentage of their net wealth, than Musk has. Because, as far as I know, he's given nothing. He's just the sort of shit to have bragged about it if he had.
In short, FOAD.
“I” am supporting Ukraine by urging my representative in the House and my state Senators to continue to vote to send needed materials to Ukraine. What about you? What have YOU done?
Dale
I've made a dozen small donations and the company I work for matched all employee donations to the tune of $55K. It goes directly to those in need (less than 1% goes to maintenance).
And I will continue to do so and so are many others.
I wonder if Putin quietly told Musk that if Ukraine kept using Starlink satellites to control drones, Russia would shoot those satellited down. Both China and Russia have given public demonstrations of their ability and willingness to shoot satellites down, after all.
