Can't Upset Trumplethinskin

Somebody want to explain this one?
Gold Star father Khizr Khan’s “freedom to travel abroad” is reportedly under review, and he says he doesn’t know why.

Khan was scheduled to speak at a luncheon in Toronto on Tuesday “on what we can do about the appalling turn of events in Washington — so that we don’t all end up sacrificing everything.” The two-hour event was to include a presentation and then a question-and-answer session.

But Khan was told late Sunday that his traveling privileges were under review, according to Ramsay Talks, which organized the luncheon.

“As a consequence, Mr. Khan will not be traveling to Toronto on March 7th to speak about tolerance, understanding, unity and the rule of law,” it said in a statement. “Very regretfully, Ramsay Talks must cancel its luncheon with Mr. Khan. Guests will be given full refunds.”
Mr. Khan is an American citizen. Who gets off with telling him that he can't travel?

If it is true, then I agree with you. I'd like to see an explanation for why he is not free to travel.

If.

Kahn is a proven liar with a political axe to grind, so there is room for doubt about his story Is there documentation? Copy of a letter from the Feds?

Proven liar, eh? Go ahead, I'm listening.

The No-Fly list needs no justification, and you can't even get a confirmation that you are on it.
Unless you are 8. Or a member of Congress.

So...Kahn ISN'T on the no fly list. Has he been told he can't leave the country?
Or has Canada told him he can't enter? Or has his passport been revoked?

What, exactly, are the restrictions?

Kahn refuses to comment.

Details do matter, in this case.

It is not unpresidented(sic) for someone's passport to be revoked, thereby preventing them from leaving the country or preventing them from traveling to countries other than the United States. See, e.g., Edward Snowden. I'm not buying Mr. Khan's terminology though. You don't get your passport "reviewed", you get it seized at the border when trying to leave and told that it's revoked and sent back home. You don't get warned about it, they just do it.

It's not unpresidented[sic] for someone to be placed on the No-Fly List because someone in a position of authority has either suffered butthurt or is doing it out of political spite.

What I can see happening is that the airline he was flying sought to give him a free pre-check and that bounced.

But yeah, this one might bear some watching.
