So because Disney's exercise of its right to speak offends DuhSantis, he'll fuck with their governmental situation.Republicans in 2012: "Corporations are people, too!"

Republicans in 2022: "Change your mind about your politics or we will take away your business license!"
It would seem to me that this is textbook content-based discrimination. I have little doubt that Disney's lawyers are already working on suing the fuck out of Florida as soon as the law is signed.
Beyond that, as Stephen Colbert said a few days ago, there are only three reasons to go to Florida: Visit Disney parks, spring break, and to die. Disney is the biggest employer in the state and, as the Spremes have said, they have the right to engage in free speech by funding PACs and anything else they feel like doing.
Florida has been running television ads that they are open for business. But only, it seems, for those businesses that won't defy DumbSantis and the Christian Taliban.
Which makes Florida differ from Russia or China how, exactly?
Update: Yes, it's legislation to punish a company for its speech. DumbSantis confirmed it.

It's funny with all this hubbub over Disney being woke. I well remember in the 60s' when long-haired guys need not try to go to their LA park. They had a distinct Red Neck attitude and Mouse help you if you acted stoned there.
So now they are Anti-fa to the current crop of wingnuts.
My how times have changed.
As for me, I think Death-Santis picked a fight he cannot win, but we will see.

That shoe pinches when it is on YOUR foot, doesn't it?
Disney can look out for itself. And I take it you approve of current using its power to stop on our companies first amendment rights,
Good to know.
Need to build a wall. When Fluriduh inevitably floods, those people will move here.
The Disney carve-out was holding on to a couple hundred million dollars in public debt, a couple hundred million dollars of public debt that just landed in the public, in the taxpayer's, laps. Muralita boat-boy just effectively bankrupted the state. Not to mention it is the state's largest single employer, with enough people to effectively swing an election. Should just pack it all up ~ tourists, employees, everything ~ and move it to Colorado.
All of which is moot in the generally accepted vernacular, a pointless endeavor, wild-goose chase, a boondoggle; the discussion a waste of time and air, there is no question: Fluriduh will flood, and those people will move here.
Need to wall it off before it's too late ...
B,
No. Think before you react.
You don't seem to understand that the Government controlling
freedom of speech is different from from your neighbors yard
(closed or private spaces).
So deathSantis declaring specific speech or books are not to happen
is violation of first amendment (federal) and even so for Florida's
constitution. Even with crafted limits its already over the top.
Florida Article 1:
Every person may speak, write and publish sentiments on all subjects but
shall be responsible for the abuse of that right. No law shall be passed
to restrain or abridge the liberty of speech or of the press.
Eck!
W3ski:
If you invoke "Anti-fa" (supposed to be left wing) then there is a "Fa"
aka Fascist right wing to be the counterpart. Its a interesting
juxtaposition.
Over the years reflecting as I can being old... Disney reflected
culture as it was. Back then long hairs and stoners were edgers
and generally unaccepted just about everywhere. The good old days
really weren't. However D-boy is trying to reset the clock and
if having his way as such long hair hippy types and stoners would
again be unaccepted.
So we have evolved, and D-boy has gotten caught trying to recreate
the past.

Another vain attempt by the damn governor to out Fergus Fergus. He thinks he can win a primary because he fundamentally misunderstands the nature of cults. He doesn't give a rat's ass about any of this shit he's flinging at the wall to see what sticks.
Also, I wonder which textbook publishing company is making out like a bandit over his book bans?

Never said I approved. But it is fun watching the Left squirm when censorship is applied to things THEY approve of....they seem to cheer when it is applied to things they disapprove of.
See also Masterpiece Bakery.
"Squirm"? You assume too much. And if you think that there is any similarity between Disney and the Homophobic Bakers, maybe you should ask your law school for a refund.
Not sure all of the logic works, but you're the lawyer and I'm not.
The lawyers are going to be billing lots of hours.
And.....
The taxpayers (nominally "citizens") are gonna get hosed
And.....
Be sold a bargeload of horseshit about how this is freedumb and patriotism in action and how lucky they are to support the glorious GOP flimflam.
Amusing points:
1) It seems that special districts such as Disney’s can only be disbanded in Florida by a vote of the residents of the district.
2) Disney is carrying about a billion dollars in debt in the district, whose service which immediately falls to the county and municipal taxpayers according to the location.
3) The district currently runs a $5-10 million dollar deficit that Disney has been paying for.
B, the First Amendment applies to all speech, short of that espousing treason or overthrowing the current system. None of which is engaged in by the Disney company. I suggest you re-read the document in question, there are no provisions for removing any of the protections of the Bill of Rights, owning the libs (or conservatives) is not a good enough reason for government retaliation because they don’t say what those in power want them to say.
Free speech? Why that’s just a Commie Socialist plot to undermine this country’s integrity, and keep us from restoring the original country that was already there before it was subverted and impaired by the so-called Founding Fathers.
B,
Put down the shovel, it would be terrible if the hole should
collapse in on you.
You picked the Masterpiece bakery, an example of discrimination
by a corporate citizen against persons. Where is the line for
discrimination? Their demise was based on keep shoveling even
when wrong.
The action against Disney is also not ok if government
discriminates against persons or corporate citizens.
Or violates its own laws for free speech.
If anything you proved both the be either acts to
be approved of by select groups as acceptable
discrimination or reprehensible acts that should
not be condoned or permitted.
The actions against Disney is a revenge act by his own
words by a state actor under the color of law and is a
volitation of the rights of all corporate citizens or
persons that Desantis disagrees with.
