U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday lifted a half-century-old ban on selling arms to Vietnam, looking to bolster a government seen as a crucial, though flawed partner in a region that he has tried to place at the center of his foreign policy legacy.That's probably long overdue, the move should have been done 25 years ago. And this didn't hurt things any, from an American perspective.

So now the Vietnamese can move up from non-lethal weapons like Tasers and F-35's.
Indeed. When I saw "Boeing" in the hradline, I thought we were selling them F15s or F/A-18s.
