The North of Alaska is "extremely dry" Parts of Hawaii are extremely dry.

A couple of things to note:
1. The map is deceptive in that some areas not listed as being in the 'drought' area have crops that aren't going to produce because the rains that removed from the listing...CAME TOO LATE and the crops are lost.
2. Regardless of what weather we get after November and next Spring, most authorities agree that even with good weather it takes 2 to 3 years to compensate for a bad drought (and this is truly a BAD one) so even with a wet forecast we will be feeling the effects of this one for a long time...
