Ah, the Irony of Conservatives

The members of the QAnon Party are claiming that Trump's current impeachment is unconstitutional, so they are using a technicality to avoid having to judge what Trump did.

Top Republican senators argued on Sunday that the Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump set to begin this week is not constitutionally legitimate — and one even tried to suggest that Democrats might be to blame for the storming of the US Capitol.

That is really too rich. For as far back as I can recall, whenever a criminal defendant wins because the cops did an illegal search or failed to Mirandize the defendant or, at times, tortured or abused the defendant in order to obtain a confession, it has been the conservatives who have been screaming blue bloody murder at how that defendant got off on a technicality.

Which is exactly what they are doing now: Seizing on an imaginary technicality to avoid having to hold Trump accountable to unleashing a mob on the Capitol.

Never forget that, as the mob was going into the Capitol, Trump said that Mike Pence was a coward for doing his duty under the Constitution.

Never forget that, as the mob stormed the Capitol, Trump refused to issue orders to send in the D.C. National Guard, but he had no problem in using the National Guard to attack peaceful protesters so he could hold an upside-down Bible outside of a church.

Never forget that Trump watched the insurrection eagerly and delightedly on TV and dodged pleas from friends and allies to call off his mob.

Never forget that Trump waited until it was clear that his autogolpe had failed before he sent out a tepid tweet telling the Insurrectionists to go home, then he put out a video statement that repeated his lies about the election before telling the mob to go home and that he loved him.

Never forget that Trump's video was so full of lies about the election that it was almost immediately taken down by every non-Russian sponsored platform.

But all of the above is what the Senators from the Party of Q wish us all to forget.

Never forget what happened on January 6, 2021. Never forget those Senators who are covering it up.

And as far as Ron Johnson goes, with is disgusting insinuation of blaming a victim:

That seditious breathing, hairy, ugly bag of mostly water can go fuck himself, along with everyone in Wisconsin who voted for him.

If you agree with Johnson, you are free to bugger off.

To borrow a technique Mr. Johnson uses, illustrated in the clip that accompanied this post, let me ask a question:

Isn't it true that Mr. Johnson is the ringleader of a secret conspiracy to turn the United States over to Communist China that would end with total disarmament of our armed forces and the requirement that every American show his allegiance to China by literally defecating on an American flag? I don't know. I'm simply asking this question.

Yours very crankily,

Crank of New York,
I agree with your premise, however I think Russia should be in there instead of China. After all, Johnson was there on the 4th of July discussing blah, blah, blah, whatever. Seems like he likes the Russkies better than he likes the Chinese.

Make the Qpers' heads explode and ask if Johnson is participating in a child sex-trafficking cult out of the basements of pizza parlors. We don't know if he is or not, we're just asking the question.

We should be asking if a child slave porno ring was operating out of a sub-basement of Trump Tower.

@Ingersollman,

The difference between Russia and China is that the Chinese don't even think any American idiots could be useful.

I've wondered what happened to those little girls kidnapped at the border.

Should also be making more of his life-long connections to Jeff Epstein.

And the dressing rooms incidents at the teeny-bopper pageants.

I hate to get all reality based of them, but sorry, Fergusites, the senate already decided that it has jurisdiction to try impeached officials who are no longer in office back in 1876 after William Belknap resigned as secretary of war to avoid impeachment and the house impeached him anyway.
Belknap then, as Fergus will be now, was acquitted in the senate, but the precedent was established, so the argument that trying a newly minted private citizen in the senate after impeachment is unconstitutional is wrong and already proven so in the face of the very same arguments for his defense 144 years ago.

So very, very rich: for years, Democrats have been bringing books to what turns out to be knife fights (when the GOP would bring out nativisim, white supremacy and economic desperation, then throw that chum in the water).
Now, in the Senate trial, the Dems are bringing knives (the video reccord...or is is wreckord of the mob violence of the insurrections)...while the GOP is bringing books. Live by the sword, die by the sword, you gormless bassids.
