Ship; Sinking; Rats Leaving a

Nikki Haley is distancing herself from Trump.

“We need to acknowledge he let us down,” Haley said. “He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”

Yep. Attempting to carry out a self-coup really did let the party down.

The Politico article is worth a read. Haley seems to be one of the few Republicans to say, out loud, that the fact that ther party rarely wins the popular vote total is a problem for the party.

But her comments about Trump reek of opportunism. It seems as though Haley was like someone who was watching a kid play with matches inside a hay barn, in that it was only after the barn had burned to the round, did she say "maybe that wasn't a good idea to be doing that." When there was a chance to talk to Trump, to be straight with him, and to try to get him to understand that he was wrong, Haley kept quiet. Haley seems to be making a bet that the party is going to move away from Trump and that she wants to be in the forefront of that. Not because it's the right thing to do, but because the tide is going to flow that way and she wants her boat to be well-positioned to take advantage of it.

The bottom line seems to be that Haley is, at her core, an opportunist. She was the governor of South Carolina when a white supremacist slaughtered Black people in a church. She used that to push to remove the Flag of Treason from the state flag... whether it was the right thing to do or because Haley saw a chance to make a national name for herself is unclear.

She clearly has felt the sting of racism and bigotry in her own party. But in order to advance herself, she signed on with the administration of a president who has a lengthy track record of being both racist and misogynist. As a result, no matter what she now says about Trump and the 1/6/21 Insurrection, when there was a chance to speak truth to power, Haley spurned it.

The stench of Trump, the stench of the Insurrection, those are on Haley.

But such a good looking rat! Time to drag out that quote: Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason? For if it prosper, none dare call it Treason

As the GOP and the party of Lincoln continues to cover itself with glory.....

Don’t know if you speak Cantonese, but they have a perfect word for someone like Ms. Haley:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jook-sing

The term jook-sing evolved from zuk-gong (竹杠; zhugang in Mandarin) which means a "bamboo pole" or "rod". Since gong (杠) is a Cantonese homophone of the inauspicious word 降 which means "descend" or "downward", it is replaced with sing (升), which means "ascend" or "upward".

The stem of the bamboo plant is hollow and compartmentalized; thus water poured in one end does not flow out of the other end. The metaphor is that jook-sings are not part of either culture; water within the jook-sing does not flow and connect to either end. The term may or may not be derogatory. Use of the term predates World War II.[1]

She's just trying to build a different flavor of lifeboat, a very popular occupation among Re;publican officials just now.

This just shows that the swamp is made up of creatures that wear many labels besides progressive democrat. How many jobs has Joe killed today. EO after EO, how low will Xiden go?

If you really believe that there was insurrection afoot, with all of the arms and such on the right, why no destruction, shootings and attacks? Where is the proof? A protester shot on camera? A lot of people of questionable allegiance and a lot of press in the mix. Watch all of the footage and you see nothing like the destruction that the leftist mobs have presented for the last 12 months.

Hey Gromit, one kind of job that Joe Biden has killed is the fact checker. Not so many needed anymore. No proof of attacks? Where have you been? Beating police officers with American flag and Blue Live Matter flag poles are weapons the Trumpists brought. And how do you know there were no guns were you there as part of Trumps insurrectionist mob?

No cheese Gromit? These RWNJs love love love them some guns and there is a 100% chance we'll hear all about duffles full of sweet automatic weapons stashed in car trunks and truck beds. Sure, you can hang Pence, but lithe Nancy can so dodge and run from Trumpite mobs that she needs a bullet in the brain. Weren't you listening to your fellow traitors, sedition dog? They spelled out their murder plans on Facebook. Stay up with the program, canine.

The danger of widespread propaganda is that it can render significant portions of those who consume it impervious to actual facts. But only in information form, as those facts don't care whether one believes in them or not. Refuting the claims of the propagandized is only valuable as a service to others who may see them and mistake them for something other than the dangerous lies that they are. As for the propagandized themselves, they are no more likely to accept contravening information than any random heroin addict is likely to accept that their heroin use is bad for them.

Gromit, that's some classic Drumpf cult fantasy and propaganda.

Still waiting to see the guns. Have you spent time in Portland or Seattle? I have, I can tell you who is armed and committing aggression. Here's a hint, they wear black and think communist red.

The pile of confiscated firearms from January 6th is 0, a number dwarfed by the amount of bullshit in the covid relief act.

Gromit, you need to stop consuming Right-Wing propaganda.

This guy was arrested on Capitol Hill grounds for carrying a gun.

15 MAGAites were arrested for possessing guns. One of those idiots had a box of Molotov cocktails.

Maybe you should stop listening to Ron Johnson.
