No, He Has 206 of Them

President Trump on Tuesday insisted he is not a racist amid sustained criticism of his attacks on four minority, progressive Democratic congresswomen.

The president’s latest defense of his tweets telling the lawmakers to “go back” to their home countries, even though they are all U.S. citizens, came hours before the House is set to vote on a resolution condemning them as racist.

“Those Tweets were NOT Racist. I don’t have a Racist bone in my body!” Trump tweeted.
That number includes the bone spurs.

"Go back where you came from" is racist. It has almost always been said to minorities (including Jews, Italians and Greeks, back in the days when "white people" were those from northwestern Europe and Scandinavia).

You can bet that nobody ever told Donnie to "go back where you came from".

Meanwhile, almost all of the Republicans are running for cover and deploying their best dodge-em skills:
QUESTION: Senator McConnell, you’re — you’re married to an immigrant who’s a nationalized [sic] U.S. citizen. If someone were to say to her she should go back to her country because of her criticism of federal policies, wouldn’t you consider that a racist attack?

MCCONNELL: Well, the secretary of transportation came here at age 8 legally, not speaking a word of English, and has realized the American Dream, and I think all of us think that this is a process of renewal that’s gone on in this country for a very long time and is good for America, and we ought to continue it.
I'll bet that if someone walked up to McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao and said to her, in his presence "go back where you came from", that McConnell would have no problem in recognizing the racism of that insult.

If you are white and you are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a racist like Donald Trump, do not be surprised if the filth of racism gets all over you.

And if you are not white and you are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Donald Trump, there is another word that describes you: Quisling.

Sorry, CM, but Quisling is far too mild a word. I'm thinking "Kapo" better captures the spirit.

TDS is alive and well here.
"One of President Trump’s greatest gifts to Americans is that he doesn’t care if socialist demagogues and their allies call him a racist. He has given voice not to racism, but to a long overdue pushback against Democratic demagogues who shut down debate by screaming “racism” at anyone who questions them."

"Ocasio-Cortez has said, “Latinos must be exempt from immigration laws because they are ‘Native’ to US’.” Nothing racist about that."

Rashida Tlaib of “Impeach the Motherf—er” notoriety, has demanded House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) dole out committee assignments based on race. Nothing racist about that.

Ilhan Omar, who among other things has claimed that “Israel has hypnotized the world,” and that “may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,” also said, “This is not going to be the country of the white people.” Nothing racist about that.

As for Ayanna Pressley, she’s on record as saying “I’m not naïve. All politics is about identity.” She’s also said: “We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need any more black voices that don’t want to be a black voice.” Nothing racist about that.

And what about Pelosi, the white-bashing white aristocrat who said that “her grandson’s birthday wish was to have brown skin and brown eyes”? Does anyone respect this pandering nonsense?

https://amgreatness.com/2019/07/16/the-american-left-is-racist-not-president-trump/

And the money quote:
"The problem with silencing an entire generation of white people in the name of fighting racism is that while they have been silent, extreme environmentalism, anti-white racism, and creeping socialism have swept across American culture, taking over our schools, universities, entertainment and media industries, our corporations, and government at all levels. Unchecked, this will destroy the country."

Many have seen this progressivism for years, from the left and right. How blind can you be. How much more hatred can you have, without any contempt for those that hate this country, i.e. the squad.

Deflection and bothsiderism are well-word tactics to try and negate the offensiveness of a person's statement.

Trump is a racist, Jim. He has always been a racist. He has a long history of being a racist.

I assume, from your comments, that is OK with you.

At least imo bothsiderism is the laziest of all arguments.

Identifying racism, combating racism, ameliorating the effects of racism...

These things are not racism. Pretending you don't know the difference fools no one.

Comrade Misfit said...

Bothsiderism is the equivalent of going into court and telling the judge that it's not fair to be prosecuted because: "Hell, Judge, everybody speeds/does drugs/robs liquor stores".

CM,
I see many awards given to PDJT, along with pics with many famous black people. I don't believe he was/is/and will always be racist. IMHO. I have no issue with his most recent tweets. He singled out no one and didn't use the race card. And I agree...you don't like this country, leave. Plain and simple.

He dated a black woman.
He deported an ex Nazi.
He upgraded MLK's birthplace to a national historic park.
He posthumously pardoned legendary boxer Jack Johnson.
He has overseen the lowest black unemployment in history.
He loaned his personal jet to Nelson Mandela.
He denounced David Duke over 20 years ago.

None of the above will mean a thing to your followers. All members of Pantifa..panties always in a bunch.

Bothsiderism isn't an excuse, but I don't see you denouncing any of the statements from the left. Can I assume you agree with them?

Comrade Misfit said...

Jim, you can either stand with Trump's white nationalism or oppose it.

That's your choice. I am presuming that you choose to stand with him.

Trump is smart enough to know that he is spouting racist rhetoric.

By the way, in 2016, Trump didn't know who David Duke was.

Fergus still wants the exonerated Central Park 5 executed.
Fergus is using the age-old racist strategy to try and get reelected and stay out of prison while the statute of limitations runs out on obstruction of justice.
Whether Fergus is a racist in his heart is beside the point, he's the goddamn president of the United States and his policies are brutally racist for the most shallow of political reasons.
Ask Lee Atwater whether Fergus is a racist or not.
Also, all of this racism argument sure has knocked the Jeffry Epstein story, in which Fergus is credibly accused of raping a child, off of the front page.

Jim is hilarious! Trump can’t be racist, he has stood next to famous black people and had his picture taken! That’s proof enough for him.

I assume Monroe is in Louisiana. Why don’t you go back there, fix the educational deficiencies, and THEN come back and show us how it is done.

Can you see how that is offensive? Those same terms were used often in the past to degrade minorities. And You’re fine with that?

You are correct. All those ‘fine’ qualities you listed will not mean a thing for those of us on the left. Because for every one of those instances you present, I can show more cases where Trump possesses racist tendencies. The Central Park Five, Birtherism, Housing discrimination, “shithole” countries, fine people on both sides from Charlottesville to name a few.

You like Trump, we get it. You could like him because the economy is doing well. Because your 401k is through the roof. Because he has increased military spending. Because he has cut regulations that were hindering your profession. Because he speaks the lingo used in the circles you travel in. Because he ____ insert reason here _____. Those reasons to support trump are understandable.

But to support him because he separates parents from children because they aren’t citizens, because he uses terms that rouse neo-Nazis, because he ‘talks tough’ like while ‘telling it like it is’; that is where the Left is wondering where the decency of the right has gone. What line does trump have to cross before those on the right say whoa, that was too much? That’s not to say you abandon him and his positions. But rather say “Hey Donnie. Cool it, bro. That went too far.” Christsakes the only Republican that I heard be critical of trump was the guy that quit the party a few weeks ago. For all the others to remain quiet because they have an R after their names is not a good enough reason to remain silent.

Fast forward 2 weeks later:

https://www.cnn.com/2016/03/03/politics/donald-trump-disavows-david-duke-kkk/index.html

You can either stand with the anti American squad (including open borders Nancy) or oppose it.

That's your choice. I assume you stand with them.

Trump is smart enough to keep the intra party fighting going. Dems are at each other's throat. You see white nationalism, I see a patriot where skin color is not a factor. Would examples of him disparaging white people make a difference to you?

Jim in Monroe said...

Dale,
You make good points. Finally, someone on the left acknowledges his accomplishments.

I'm more than willing to say 'Hey Donnie. Cool it bro" when he's gone too far.

But after the abuse he's taken for the last 3 years, I guess I don't care how much he pushes back. If/when he shoots somebody in the middle of 5th avenue, I'll be sure to speak out against him. Unlike so many on the left who demand impeachment because orange man bad.

Comrade Misfit said...

Two weeks later, Trump finally (finally) disavowed Duke's support. Big fucking whoop.

But you keep up with the "bothsiderism". That's akin to going into court and saying: "Hey, Judge, everybody speeds down that highway/sells drugs in my neighborhood/robs liquor stores/beats their wife into a coma. What's the problem, Your Honor?"

That's what bothsiderism is. It's cheap deflection. And it only works, if at all, for those who are defending abhorrent behavior.

He hasn't accomplished crap save for making the rich richer.
If your 401k got better it was a tag along lucky thing as some
hedge fund luzer likely got a dollar for every 10 cents you
got. You haven't lost everything yet and he hasn't screwed it
up so much as to crash the market. Hey here a tip, don't
invest in soybeans as you loose your pants to the tariffs.

Get real, inertia is a fact of government, and every time
Drump plays with the system the market takes a dump, then
it returns to normal as it recognizes he has done nothing
real or costly to them.

He is an idiot and our american way is be destroyed inch
by inch by his foolish crap.
