Nobody has accused the Conservatives of being full of valor, virtue, consistency, or common sense. The Bundy bunch was armed, angry, and engaging in the time-honored tradition of taking and/or abusing the taxpayer and the public good. What's not to like?

I don't know how I stumbled across your blog but I'm a solid if semi-avid fan.

What I don't understand, being a Canuck, is your unflagging commitment to guns. In Canada the long gun registry has for now, been put paid to. And I think that a good thing. There are all kinds of people in the great white north who need rifles either to hunt or as protection against predatory beasties. But, I surmise, since the greater part of our population is urban, the rationale lends itself more towards hunting than security.

Unless, we are mortally threatened by members of our own society.

And it is this underlying animus that seems to motivate much of the gun rhetoric in your country.

Would you please, and I'm not being coy, please explain why you are so clearly pro-gun.

Thanks, John

John, are you sure you've been following this blog? Because you seemed to have missed (1) a long-standing affection for heavy, complex iron mechanisms that make lots of noise and (2) an athlete's pride in precise application of force.

Pretty sure the cats are uncorrelated.
