Gov. Brownback apologized for his staff brownbacking about a snarky tweet by a teenager.
The Shawnee Mission School District overruled the demand of the high school principal, Karl R. Krawitz, that Emma Sullivan apologize to Brownback for hurting his feelings. Apparently, Krawitz has not apologized for his total ignorance of the First Amendment.
Because he is a school administrator and as we all should know by now, holding such a job pretty much requires that one undergo a cortex-ectomy in order to do the job right.
Still unanswered is why Governor Browback has a staffer whose job it to scour social media for snarky comments about the governor. Is that person's job being funded with taxpayer money? Are the good people of Kansas paying for some hypersensitive asshat to run a Twitter patrol?

A few years back Kansas failed to introduce creationism as part of science in public schools by one vote as I recall.
Don't expect much from Kansas.
I am a Kansas voter and...
In the interest of brevity, I'll leave it at this: the right-wing sense of entitlement is no less alive and well here. I could tell stories.
For all that the horrifically regressive tax regime hasn't budged an inch, including the 1% sales tax increase from 2008 that is probably going to be permanent.
Soyeah. "Do as I say, not as I do" would seem to be the order of the day in Topeka.
It's not the middle of nowhere, but you can live there, here ... to paraphrase Louise [of "Thelma &..."].
In Wichita, the PD has a strong, burly presence in the public schools, and are equipped with tasers to use on our children. One child's death--that I know of--has been the result.
This is the attitude of Kansas toward its [publicly schooled] children.
Brownback has gone hammer & tong after Planned Parenthood in [t]his state, with ridiculous code requirements for women's clinics that are designed to close them. After all, what they do is provide necessary healthcare: neonatal care, cervical cancer screenings, mammograms and contraception--all designed to prevent higher public health costs down the road--to, shall we observe: the 99% of women in Kansas.
What festers under all this blatant misogyny is the disguised "moral indignation" concerning abortion.
This Federal Republic will rapidly become a xtian theocracy [sharia law is alright if it's coming from christians, right?] if Roe v. Wade is repealed/as is being done, state by state, in violation of the Constitution.
Women of no or little means die now, here in Kansas, because Dr. George Tiller was assassinated.
Kansas is the only state in this disunion to completely cut all arts funding--about $500,000, I believe/which cost the state 3X that much in lost funding--and is costing the state jobs.
Republicans don't give a FUCK about jobs: corporate profits are what motivate them/Come Back, Kathleen Sebelius.../and trashing elitist shit like art, and jobs, and infrastructure ... the motherfuckers that "own" this country fly OVER the fucking mess ... and I now understand, living here--in Kansas and in 'Murika--how the masses come to desire their own repression.
Welcome to a Republican's Paradise.
