Mindset: Women as Priests are Equivalent to Fucking Children

No, I am not kidding about this. Not in the slightest. That is the mindset of the Church of Rome:
The Vatican issued revisions to its internal laws on Thursday making it easier to discipline sex-abuser priests, but caused confusion by also stating that ordaining women as priests was as grave an offense as pedophilia.
"Misogynistic" doesn't even come close to it. This is women-hating at a level that even Calvin didn't reach.

Why that church doesn't die out as fast as the Shakers have is a mystery.

It's even worse than that. According to the guys at BoingBoing, attempting to ordain a woman priest is immediate excommunication, but boinking a child? A slap on the hand, that's all. They *encourage* reporting it to the cops *if the law compels*. Uhm, excuse me? That should be the first thing any reasonable caring thinking person should be required to do, and the Catholic Church only "encourages" it, and only if the law *requires* it?!

I used to have respect for the Church due to its positions on social justice and human rights (while viewing its positions on woman's reproductive rights with dismay, but when no other large institution cared about the poor and issues of social justice, the Church was there), but that respect has long since evaporated into utter distaste. This is a corrupt institution that is no longer worthy of any respect at all.
