No word if any of them had to make the dreaded seven-engine landing.

A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

At the height of the Vietnam War, they came and went from Westover AFB around the clock. They flew over and shook my grandparent's house everytime, and as a kid I always ran to the window and looked up. The last time I remember seeing one flying in person was at the Memorial Day airshow at Maguire AFB, from the back kitchen door of the mess hall at FT. Dix. I ws supposed to attend the show with a buddy, but I got stuck as a last minute replacement on KP. The B-52's were long gone from Westover by the time I got there later in 1981.
"7 engine landing? How do you think I got this DFC"
I was and still am a military brat.. even at 78..people ask me how I can sleep thru the trains going thru town at night. I just laugh ...we lived at Kelly AFB and our apts were right by the runaway. You learn to sleep even as planes are rocketing on and off and shit is falling off the walls..
Yep, noisy but effective, 67 years later...
