Jon Stewart Just Beat the Fucking Shit Out of Ted Cruz

A bill enhancing health care and disability benefits for millions of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits won final approval in the Senate on Tuesday, ending a brief stalemate over the measure that had infuriated advocates and inspired some to camp outside the Capitol.

The Senate approved the bill by a vote of 86-11. It now goes to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed into law. He has said the bill “makes good on our sacred obligation” to care for veterans and their families.

I guess that the public shame of being called out for playing fuck-fuck games with veterans suffering from Baghram Lung was too much for most of those Trumpist assholes, who last week enjoyed celebratory fist-bumps over the pleasure of fucking over veterans.

Guess that those arrogant motherfuckers saw the light when they felt the heat.

The Disgusting Eleven who voted to fuck over veterans are:

Crapo (R-ID)
Lankford (R-OK)
Lee (R-UT)
Lummis (R-WY)
Paul (R-KY)
Risch (R-ID)
Romney (R-UT)
Shelby (R-AL)
Tillis (R-NC)
Toomey (R-PA), and
Tuberville (R-AL).

Even Ted Cruz couldn't stomach those repugnant assholes.

Or it could be because they actually read the bill and noticed that the Dems had added a 400 billion dollar non discretionary spending provision.

John Stewart is a democratic operative aided by the press...and you fell for his words because you wanted to believe because of your hatred of all things republican.

You really should try to find out the truth rather than listening to a comedian for your news.

B, a comedian is leading Ukraine against an invasion by an aggressor nation. Better listening to a comedian who is actually knowledgeable and cares about people than a bunch of clowns who don't. Mark Twain, Will Rogers and George Carlin were all different kinds of comedians who generally knew more about life and politics than the politicians of their times. Comedians are usually highly intelligent people who would read a bill before commenting on it.

And yet, your guys caved under the pressure brought by a comedian. Even Ted Fucking Cruz could read the tea leaves on this one.

Your whining about sour grapes has been noted and logged.

Who really gives a fuck if a 'comedian' is championing a cause? If it is the correct thing to do, then just do it. And your claim of an additional 400 billion is a Reich-wing lie. The simple fact that 19 senators reversed their vote after the media and Stewart held their feet to the fire shows that these nineteen are fence-sitters, waiting to see where the political winds blow them.
I thought holding people accountable for their actions/inactions was something you advocated for in the past. Are you being a hypocrite? Or just obstinate?

b,

Enough of the conspiracy theory muck.

The real question all of us want to know is did you read the bill?
Oh right,its what they said.

Generally people doing comedy has a few things going, one is
they are funny and the other is political comedy does not
have to shade the truth. They also share the bonus that
political comedy especially here in the USA has always been
delivered with a sharpened point on it. Its part of our
American tradition. Also 1A.

B, why don’t you stick to the facts, like a good conservative:

“My concern with this bill has nothing to do with the purpose of the bill," Toomey said on the Senate floor ahead of the vote last week.

"What I'm trying to do is change a government accounting methodology that is designed to allow our Democratic colleagues to go on an unrelated $400 billion spending spree that has nothing to do with veterans and won't be in the veterans space," Toomey added Sunday on CNN.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has said he will offer Toomey a vote on an amendment to the bill to address his concerns.

"We offered Toomey -- he's standing in the way -- the ability to do an amendment at 60 votes, just like the bill is a 60-vote bill. He insisted, at least in conversations with some others, saying, 'No, no, no. If you don't put it in the bill' -- which will kill the bill -- 'I'm not going to be for it,'" Schumer said at a news conference last week.

This was the same goddamn bill they voted for in June. Accounting for discretionary my ass. They were butthurt because Manchin and Schumer outmaneuvered them on the CHIP bill and the reconciliation bill and they took it out on the next bill that came up. They would have blocked it no matter what it was, as was made very clear by the fact that it was what it was and they still blocked it. Republicans throw fits. A lot. This was one.
