You may have heard about liver donations. In that procedure, surgeons take out roughly half of a living person's liver and transplant that into a recipient. It's fairly major surgery with a recovery time of two to three months, or so.
It's probably a good thing that it's not just women who can be donors. For if that were the case, then I would fully expect Texas to pass a law requiring all women to be entered into a donation database and be forced to donate a portion of their liver in order to save another person's life.

Is it possible the bounty can put on in a position of
conflict with federal law. I'm thinking along the
lines of due process and denial of human rights as
well as safety ones person..
When I ponder this I think of miscegenation laws and
those used against homosexuals that are now invalid
or removed from the books..
